Brooklyn based composer-producer duo Eleven Triple Two is the newest talent to push the boundaries of music but with purpose. Using technical skill and fluid artistry, they are taking the neo-classical world to new heights by making captivating music that not only supports a narrative, but also has the mass appeal to stand on its own.
The duo consists of Chris Villepigue (New York City native) and Steffen Wagner (German-British newcomer), who have developed a uniquely European but big city approach to their blended sound design. Having the philosophy of authenticity with authority has allowed them to not only pull inspiration from genres’ such as soul, classical, funk, indie, and psychedelia, as well as from their broad industry experience.
Steffen, an accomplished producer and sound engineer, has created with contemporary artists like Gizelle Smith of Jalapeno Records (UK) and Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band of Big Crown Records (NYC). He also has an extensive background as a sound designer for high profile studios producing many theatrical film marketing campaigns. Chris, a veteran classical composer, has many placements in ads, film, and tv; some of the most noteworthy include acclaimed films such as the Cohen Brothers’ “No Country for Old Men,” “Monsters University,” “MIB International” and Frank Miller’s “Sin City.”
By blending classical music with modern elements, the duo has cultivated a style that is distinct and nuanced, as well as avant-garde and impactful . This is the dynamic that allows other creatives’ visions to be sonically fulfilled across film, television, advertising, trailers, dance performances, as well as popular & contemporary music.
